Sometimes, people will ask, where does the Bible condemn gambling? Recently we see the rise of online gambling, and sports gambling. Not only casinos and race tracks but nearly every state has a state lottery which is essentially state instituted gambling. There have been thousands of casinos in just about every state.
In 1977 the first legal casinos outside of the state of Nevada were built in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Later horse tracks and dog tracks and other forms of legalized gambling were legalized in various places. It became legal again in the state of Nevada in 1931.
It was banned in this country for a long time, for many years, in the early 20th century it was banned. Gambling is one of those things that seem to be more and more prevalent in our society than ever before.
